Sharron Astbury-Petit

My work is characterised by experimentation and a combining of media to better explore different themes, interweaving disciplines to create a singular and evolutive reality.

Largely figurative and rich in symbolism, my recurrent subjects are nature, woman, time and im/mortality.

My paintings seek to question and to pay homage to the seduction of the intangible.

I began my career as a graphic designer and illustrator in Leeds before relocating to France in 1995 to concentrate on my painting. I was to work there as a professional artist for twenty years, exhibiting internationally and receiving a total of 15 awards and 3 medals, before I returned to my native Yorkshire in 2016.

As well as being an exhibiting member of Leeds Fine Artists, I am also an associate member of the Société des Artistes Français.

Work in many private collections at home and abroad.
