LFA News online

In 2020 the requirement for social isolation and distancing has led to art galleries closing their doors. However, new visual art may still make a positive contribution to the quality of people’s lives and this page offers the public the opportunity to view the work that LFA members are producing in this challenging time for all of us. We hope that visitors to the website will gain some pleasure and benefit from these posts. Take care and keep safe.

In the current circumstances LFA was not able to hold its annual exhibition at Dean Clough in June and July as planned. The exhibition in the Station Gallery, Richmond planned for 24th July to 4th September 2019 has now been postponed until summer 2022 and our exhibition at The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery at Leeds University scheduled for later in 2020 has also been postponed and will now run from February 2021 to July 2021. As a positive response to these circumstances the Members News page also includes an on-line exhibition of members’ work that was shown between 11th July and 29th August 2020.

As some galleries are reopening, albeit with Covid-19 restrictions applied, LFA is now pleased to announce that members are able to exhibit their work again.

Dreaming of wildness and weather and the smell of the hills

Memories of the Moor I was planning on being in Scotland in April and on Orkney in May and June, being inspired by mountains and sea and wide empty spaces. Instead I am stuck in a pleasant but tame agricultural landscape. However this does not stop me from dreaming of wildness and weather and the […]
