Working in the studio during Lockdown
Recently, during this extended lock-down period, as we have been forbidden from travelling, I have been working in the studio.

I am taking part in the ever popular annual Central Fife Open Studio (CFOS) weekend that has, thanks to Covid-19, been replaced this year by a virtual open studio event scheduled for the 5th and 6th September 2020.
This view of West Nab is a few yards from my home at the start of a local lockdown walk on the edge of the Pennines. In the first 10 weeks of lockdown I did this walk 42 times and made lots of other sketches along the way, of animals plants and birds, and also from my garden.
Hopefully this exhibition will be rearranged for next year.
During the month of September, my work is to be shown in a solo exhibition held at the Atelier-Galerie Bressigny in Angers, France.
George and I both have a couple of pieces in it, set in the woodland up near the Temple.
The Gallery is exhibiting 10 of my paintings until 19 September 2020.
I’ve been working on print through the year; this print is based on shadows seen through new leaf and is 7.62 x 10.16 cm using resin grave.
With the continued relaxing of the lockdown restrictions, it was great to be able to resume some plein air oil painting. Unfortunately the weather this summer has been disappointing so only managed to do six paintings outdoors over the summer.
