Leeds Fine Artists: 1874-2024
To mark the 150th anniversary of Leeds Fine Artists, we produced a commemorative book which features the work of some 50 current members and an historical introduction on the origins of the group and its 20th century history.
Look Again: Leeds Fine Artists
At the Stanley and Aubrey Burton Gallery University of Leeds.
LFA members were invited to respond to artworks in the Leeds University Art Collection. Each artist has translated their chosen piece into their own media and format. The resulting artworks show the diversity of creative responses to this challenge.
Insight
This is the third book produced to record LFA members’ work, published in 2016. It aims to record the scope of their art and, as the title suggests, to provide an insight into how they work.
Expressions
This is the second book produced to record LFA members’ work, published in 2012. It aims to record the scope of their work and how they ‘express their ideas in a visual form’. It is hoped that it will serve as an insight not only for the public but anyone concerned with visual arts in our region.
Inspirations
To create a more permanent record of the range, style and quality of the work of LFA artist members’ work in 2010, we decided to create a book that brought together examples of their work together into one volume. We invited all exhibiting members to provide photographs of their work and a short essay describing their personal inspirations – allowing each artist to speak for themselves.
