Joseph Grisag
Showing my neighbour an iPad painting of a tub of daffodils which sat on our shared driveway (see Daffodils with purple background) he replied he had never noticed that they were there but he’ll certainly lookout for them now. This sums up why l try and make art. My compositions are triggered by colour, line and form which l come across in my everyday environments. For me the seemingly ordinary overlooked what could be classed as mundane situations that we may pass by in a hurry hold endless possibilities to look observe and enjoy. Working many years (now retired) in the graphics and print industry l used the rich pure colours found in the Pantone palette on a daily basis. This use has spilt over into my paintings in which l try and present to the viewer a new and honest visual experience of looking at familiar everyday objects views and compositions.
