Welcome to
Leeds Fine Artists

Leeds Fine Artists (LFA) is an association of artists from across Yorkshire. It was established in 1874, which makes it one of the oldest regional arts bodies in the UK. From its beginnings in Leeds it has spread throughout Yorkshire and is now one of the most prestigious arts organisations in the North of England. LFA is proud of the high standard of work produced by its members. The association currently has over fifty exhibiting members working in two and three dimensions in a wide variety of media.

Leeds Fine Artists seeks to encourage and promote art and artists throughout Yorkshire. As well as an annual exhibition, held in the Crossley Gallery at Dean Clough in Halifax, other exhibitions are organised across the region each year, bringing together the wide range of styles and approaches of LFA's exhibiting members. In addition to group exhibitions, many LFA artists exhibit individually, both locally and internationally as well as promoting excellence in the visual arts through education.

Applications to join LFA are welcomed from fine artists practising in all areas of the visual and applied arts. Exhibiting Membership is by election, decided by a·panel of current members.·They·look for a high standard in applicants' work,·including·its quality, content and consistency as well as a professional approach to exhibiting.

Election date for 2021: September, 10.30 am for an 11 am start.

In the current circumstances LFA was not able to hold its annual exhibition at Dean Clough in June and July as planned. The exhibition in the Station Gallery, Richmond planned for 24th July to 4th September 2019 has now been postponed until summer 2022 and our exhibition at The Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery at Leeds University scheduled for later in 2020 has also been postponed and will now run from February 2021 to July 2021. As a positive response to these circumstances the Members News pages now includes two on-line exhibitions of members' work. The first was the Summer 20 online exhibition that was shown between 11th July and 29th August 2020 and the second is the LFA Online Winter 2020 Exhibition of members' work running from 18th November 2020 to 1st January 2021.
