Into the Storm

Melting Away

Emma has two seascapes in the ‘Body of Water’ exhibition at Sunny Bank Mills, near Leeds. Work is available to purchase online but it has also been extended to 11th April in the hope visitors will be able to come in person after lockdown. Of these two pieces, Emma says “Perhaps nowhere on earth is as evocative as the sea. From wild storms to lulling tides, it is the perfect mirror to the human condition. In these two paintings I explore both sides of this coin, the exhilaration and the calm.” See full details at:  www.sunnybankmills.co.uk

Emma Whitelock is also currently exhibiting several pieces at Silson Contemporary in Harrogate. This show is online currently but also hopes to reopen to visitors by appointment in future. It runs until May. A new collection of work, the pieces all have a tranquil colour palette, echoing the feeling of soft evening light. Both large and small sea and landscapes are included. The show also features work from other contemporary artists including LFA member Lesley Birch. For information see: www.silsoncontemporaryart.co.uk
