My painting ‘The Magpie’s Treasure’ has been selected for this first Open Exhibition to be held in the newly restored Old Parcels Office in Scarborough, now transformed, after a decade of work, into an exciting new contemporary art space.

Inspired by Sir George Clausen RA’s painting Trees, I have explored the artist’s much quoted dictum that: “light is the most important person in a picture”.

As lockdown finally lifts, galleries are at last able to re-open their doors and socially-distanced, live exhibitions can slowly recommence.
Over the winter months, I have been busy preparing and moving into my new studio. It is a much larger, brighter space and it’s an absolute joy to be settled into working there at last.
