Getting Back to Painting Plein Air
View from White Ley Bank, Fulstone – ink and colored pencil 15th May 2020
After the relaxing of the lockdown restrictions about the time allowed to exercise outdoors, it was great to be able to take advantage of the generally fine weather to resume some plein air art near to home. However, by the time I got set up the wind got too strong to work with an easel, so I resorted to using a sketchbook with ink and coloured pencils.
The scene was of one of my favourite fields that a few years ago I’d originally accidentally discovered by having to find shelter from a very strong wind. The pleasures of living in the South Pennines!
