My studio woodblocks for’Karst’ book

I am working on a book of prints for the LFA exhibition at the Leeds University Audrey Burton Gallery in November.

This is a response to a piece of work in their extensive collection, a John Piper watercolour of Weathercote Cave in the Yorkshire Dales. Weathercote Cave is currently out of bounds so I have mapped the path of Fell Beck, which rises on the slopes of nearby Ingleborough and makes its way down the moor into the limestone cavern of Gaping Gill. The handmade book will contain eight sequential woodcut prints in concertina format so they can be displayed across a long plinth.
