I am an oil painter that likes to specialise in portraiture and figurative work. For me, inspiration comes from other people’s internal voices and how they choose to express themselves. I feel like each and every individual can tell a singular story, borne from personality and experience intertwined with choices and chance occurrences. Feeling this has led me to explore these private, internal stories in my work. I want to capture the small (and sometimes larger than life!) ways others communicate their hidden worlds. I am often drawn to a sense of mystery, of the ethereal, or of something not being quite right. Ultimately, I want to evoke a sense of wanting to know more about the internal life of the subject in the viewer.
