Trevor Pittaway

Trevor was born in Yorkshire, studied at Doncaster School of Art and Leeds College of Art, later completing a M.A in Printmaking from the University of Bradford. He worked as a designer and then as a teacher of Art.

Trevor was a Founder member and Director of the Wakefield Arts Mill in Yorkshire. He is a member of Leeds Fine Artists and the Dewsbury Arts Group and an invited exhibitor at Holmfirth Art Week in Yorkshire.

Trevor has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the UK including the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in London, The Mall Galleries in London, Teddington Art Fair, Leeds Playhouse, The Royal Opera House in Wakefield, Dean Clough Galleries in Halifax, the Zillah Bell Gallery in Thirsk, Gallery Oldham, Brevan Art Gallery and Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery.

Trevor is a painter who works in a variety of media including oil, acrylic, watercolour, egg tempera. He is also a printmaker, producing etchings and digital prints. Trevor’s work is a contemporary comment on the timeless beauty of the natural landscape and the built environment of Europe; a world that is preserved yet ever changing.
Inspiration for his work ranges from the historic architecture of Venice to the English country landscape. His aim is to create lucid atmospheric sets of work that directly comment on his changing view of landscape, its timeless as well as its fragile qualities.
