Roger has an exhibition of 6 paintings, called “Plated Up : works in oil with fixed plates” at the Create Cafe, Burton Street, Wakefield.

Roger Gardner’s oil painting “Flow” is exhibited in the RA Summer Exhibition on the theme of “Climate”. The exhibition runs from 21st June to 21st August 2022.

As part of the Wakefield Art Walk, Roger Gardner is holding an exhibition of 50 cm square works in oil with fixed plates in his studio.

Some years ago, interested in Caulfield’s work, I made a painting of 60s wallpaper.– a comment on some paintings being merely wallpaper.

I was grateful when a friend gave me 3 canvases [60cm square] that he found too big to work on.motivated to paint.

During the first lockdown I sawed some old works [120 cm. X 45 cm.] into 45 cm. squares. It was “destructive” and “creative”.
